Paramedia has scouted and catalogued around 50 locations, and our strongest advice is consistent: the country’s untamed natural settings are spectacular when you shoot them at the right hour and the right season.

Bukhara — a preserved old city ideal for period and cultural work.
Khiva — an intact walled city that puts a complete historical world inside the frame.

Locations That Are Harder Than They Look
The Aral Sea region is the clearest example — visually unforgettable, but demanding on logistics and self-sufficiency. Crews underestimate how little infrastructure is out there. We plan power, supply, backup gear and contingencies so a remote shoot doesn’t become a remote problem. Indoor and built environments, by contrast, are far more controllable.
Scouting, Access and Timing
We provide location scouting with practical assessments, arrange the general filming permit plus any site-specific agreement, and plan around season and light. Indicative site-permit costs run $200–$500 depending on location and scale (Samarkand site permits typically ~$400–500); we confirm specifics per project.
